It’s human nature to seek the pleasurable things in life.

Of course, different things bring us pleasure, but there seems to be a general consensus on what’s pleasurable and what’s not. It's pleasurable to feel pleasure. Food. Music. Friends and Family. Sports. Entertainment. And though these activities are variable, there are connected in their ability to produce dopamine.

For a long time, I wasn't pleased with my life. I had my fair share of insecurities that I had to slowly overcome through activities: exercising, accomplishing goals, socializing, discovering passions. I recognize now that I was manipulating the production of dopamine to increase my self-satisfaction in this process. I realize that this process would've been easier if I had the knowledge of dopamine.

The advent of modern technology has enabled endless opportunities to find pleasure; simply put, it’s both easier to find pleasurable things and to access them frequently. Consequently, dopamine has recently received immense criticism as people have begun to blame our desensitization to pleasure, severe addictions, and decreased motivation on dopamine.

It is this project’s objective to help individuals adopt realistic habits to ensure an enjoyable yet productive lifestyle through the management of dopamine.
